I can count the days before receiving a brand new 15" MacBook Pro! My PowerPC based PowerBook has been incredible, but is missing the mark in many ways (hitting the mark in many others!). Video is practically unwatchable, and document creation, especially spreadsheets, can become a slog through the mud. With so many great programs available, which allows for multi-tasking while on Mac, I am opting for a lot of RAM, and a powerful video processor... and a Solid State Drive (SSD). This computer will last me years and, as I've read suggested, this may be the last laptop I ever own, as the iPad has certainly made its presence felt, and it certainly represents a diversion from the path maintained by portable computers for almost as far back as I can remember.
Since it's very likely that I will get the next iPhone to come out, I anticipate taking advantage of the video editing capability of the new MacBook Pro, using software from Boinx, Wiretap Pro, iMovie, YouTube and the like to create and distribute rich media content for distribution. Clipping articles with Evernote will become near instantaneous, and much more integrated into my workflow, and database software like Bento has been calling out to me.
